Helping Nevada’s Equines and Their Owners Recover 

Devastating wildfires in northern Nevada forced the evacuation of hundreds of equines and left homes, farms, pastures and essential infrastructure damaged or destroyed. Brooke USA partnered with Fleet of Angels, an equine disaster response organization working on the ground to provide emergency hay and feed, veterinary care, temporary stabling, water, critical supplies and materials to repair fencing as equine owners began the long process of recovery.

Brooke USA’s response unfolded in two phases. The initial campaign raised more than $6,000, including a $2,500 matching gift from Absorbine®. As the need continued and communities moved from emergency response into recovery, the campaign was reopened following a generous $10,000 gift from the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), which included a second $2,500 matching challenge.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who gave, shared and stood with Nevada’s equines and their owners. Your generosity helped provide critical assistance when it was needed most and helped Fleet of Angels continue supporting equine owners as they regroup, repair and recover.
