When I first stepped into this role 10 years ago, I was new to the equestrian world, unsure of exactly how my experience in animal welfare would translate. But from the very beginning, I was welcomed with open arms by a community that believed deeply in Dorothy Brooke’s legacy and in the power of compassion. That warmth—and the steady encouragement from supporters like you—quickly replaced any uncertainty with gratitude and determination. What has unfolded since then has been a true collective effort.

Together—with devoted board members, generous donors, tireless volunteers, and committed staff—we have worked hand-in-hand to honor our founder’s vision and bring meaningful change to working horses, donkeys, and mules around the world.

As Brooke USA celebrates its 10th anniversary, we are more determined than ever to accelerate our impact and boost the welfare of working equines and the people who rely on them. We have accomplished so much in our first decade, yet our vision for the next 10 years—and beyond—is even bolder. We aim to double our size so we can double what we do for those who need it most—human and animal. To achieve this, we must continue to rely on you—our donors, volunteers, partners, and friends.

Our growth of 37.51% between 2023 and 2025 is not just a number—it is a reflection of your love, your trust, and your belief that together we can change the lives of working equines and the families who depend on them.
