Legacy Bricks Will Help Equines

Brooke (sister organization of Brooke USA), the world’s largest international equine welfare charity, has been chosen as the “Official Charity for the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018 (WEG).”

Brooke is building a commemorative walkway, the Brooke Breezeway, at the Tryon International Equestrian Center that will feature dedicated “Brooke Bricks” in honor of both this iconic event and the important service provided by working equines around the world. The Games, which take place every four years, are hosted by the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Tryon, North Carolina, from September 11 – 23, 2018.

The overarching theme for the 2018 WEG is “Celebrate the Horse, Celebrate the Sport: #Together,” which commemorates the deep connection and inter-dependencies that have existed between humankind and equines for millennia. For much of the developed world, this relationship has become one of leisure and sport, but for over 600 million people and 100 million working equines, the relationship is still one of survival.

MAKE AN IMPACT FOR WORKING EQUINES IN BRICK KILNS

All proceeds raised from the “Brooke Bricks” directly benefit Brooke Brick Kiln projects in India. The bulk of the horses, donkeys and mules’ work consists of transporting tons of bricks daily, both wet and dry, by cart or pack within the kilns and to other locations for use in the construction industry. Brooke Bricks will be made of bricks manufactured humanely in the United States.

The bricks can be personalized in dedication of a person, pet, anniversary, business, or organization.
