we raised $20,000 with your help!
The wildfire season usually starts in summer and runs into early fall in California, but low humidity, dry conditions and warm fast-moving winds created ideal conditions for blazes to spread. Across the state, tens of thousands of acres burn with images emerging of horses being evacuated, roaming free or fleeing approaching fires.
Stories of valiant rescue volunteers and welcoming make-shift shelters abound throughout ravaged California communities – all focused on helping abandoned and displaced equines.
The Board of Directors of Brooke USA committed to help, and with your support we have directed the funds to aid equines in need. Through donations to the North Valley Animal Disaster Group and the American Association of Equine Practitioners as they are directly helping relief and recovery efforts in Northern and Southern California.
